Man bashed in NSW home invasion

A 50-year-old man has been bashed and robbed by two armed intruders who forced their way into his North Wollongong home.

Police say the two offenders were armed with a knife and an iron bar and assaulted the man at about 8.30pm on Thursday before ransacking his home and fleeing with cash, a mobile phone, and personal items.

The man was taken by ambulance to Wollongong Hospital to be treated for a cut, bruising to his head and shock.
