Man arrested over Sydney mall assault
A man is being questioned by police after two young girls were indecently assaulted at a Sydney shopping centre.
Two nine-year-old girls were approached by a man inside an electronic store in Ryde on a Sunday at the end of September.
The man allegedly indecently assaulted both girls before leaving the store.
Hours after police released CCTV footage on Monday afternoon of a man they hoped to speak to over the assault, a 30-year-old man fronted Eastwood Police Station.
He was arrested and is being questioned by police.
Detective Superintendent John Duncan said it was an extremely disturbing incident.
"These children have simply gone to the shops for a day out and should not have been subjected to that," Supt Duncan said.
