Man assaulted with pool cue at Sydney pub

A man has been charged with assaulting another man with a cue during a game of pool at a western Sydney pub.
Four men were playing pool at a licensed premises on Sherwood Road in Merrylands about 1.30am when a verbal argument turned physical and a 25-year-old man was attacked, police say.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital with a non-life-threatening head wound.

A 29-year-old man man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was granted conditional bail ahead of a court appearance next month.
Another man, age 42, who was arrested at the scene has been released pending further inquiries.
