Man assaulted with baseball bat in NSW

A 23-year-old man has been hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat on Sydney's Central Coast.

The assault happened during an altercation between the man and a group of people in a car park on in Umina Beach about 10.30pm on Friday.

Police, who are calling for information about the incident, said the man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with serious head injuries, in a stable condition.
