Man and woman assaulted in Sydney's west

A man and a woman have been assaulted and robbed by a gang of people at a bus stop in Sydney's west.

Police say the 34-year-old man suffered a suspected fractured rib and facial injuries and the 26-year-old woman suffered cuts and abrasions at the T-Way Station in Bonnyrigg at about 8pm on Thursday.

They were treated by ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The pair told police they had their wallets and mobile phones stolen during the assault involving a group of up to 15 people.
