Lismore still too close to call: Nats MP

The battle for the north coast seat of Lismore is still too close to call with the sitting National MP saying a declaration won't be likely until next week.

According to estimates from ABC election analyst Antony Green, National incumbent Thomas George leads Greens candidate Adam Guise by an extra 1000 votes after preference flows.

Mr George says the result is "incredibly close" with 25 per cent of the votes still to be counted.

"In all likelihood we may not have a declaration until after the Easter long weekend," he said.

Mr Guise said while the result in Lismore was not certain, the community had sent a clear anti-coal seam gas message.

The Nats faced strong anti-CSG campaigns both in Lismore and Ballina, also on the north coast.

Ballina appears to have fallen to the Greens.

Premier Mike Baird secured a second term for the coalition on Saturday despite it losing up to 17 seats across NSW.
