Light plane crashes, kills one in NSW

The pilot of a light plane has died after an accident in southern NSW.

The pilot's body was discovered inside the wreckage of the plane when police arrived at a property at Burrumbuttock, about 40km from Albury, on Sunday afternoon.

The pilot, who's yet to be identified, was believed to be the sole occupant of the plane.

A crime scene was established and will be examined by forensic specialists, while police will assist with investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
