Jury to continue deliberating in NSW trial

A Sydney jury is set to continue deliberations in the trial of a man accused of detaining, bashing and burning his girlfriend with an ice pipe.

Jason Cicerkofski has pleaded not guilty to detaining his 17-year-old girlfriend in his father's Arncliffe home in Sydney's south in May 2013.

His barrister Tim Watts said there was no doubt the girl had been seriously hurt but there was insufficient evidence Cicerkofski had anything to do with it.

The jury retired to consider their verdict on Tuesday as the trial continues in the Sydney District Court.
