Intruder assaults, robs NSW woman in flat

A woman sleeping in a granny flat on the NSW mid-north coast has been woken by a knife-wielding intruder who assaulted and robbed her.
The 61-year-old woman was assaulted by the man when he broke into her Kempsey home about 5.30am on Thursday, police said.
The intruder demanded she hand over cash and two silver bracelets before he fled.
