ICAC claims disappointing: Baird

Premier Mike Baird insists he has a "zero tolerance" approach towards bent MPs after the NSW donation scandal claimed its latest Liberal scalp.

Bart Bassett on Wednesday became the 10th Liberal MP to be sidelined this year after claims he received an illegal $18,000 donation from a banned developer in the lead-up to the 2011 election.

Political donations from developers have been outlawed in NSW since 2009.

The Londonderry MP has denied any wrongdoing but decided to step aside from the Liberal Party while the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) continues its investigations.

Mr Baird said the latest revelations had disappointed him.

"It is something that I am deeply concerned about," he told reporters in Sydney on Thursday.

He stressed he would continue to take action to clean up politics in the state.

"I have a zero tolerance approach," Mr Baird said.

"Anyone that does not obey the law, does not follow due process, well, they have no role, no part in my government - full stop."

Evidence at the ICAC this year has led to the dethroning of former premier Barry O'Farrell, forced Tim Owen and Andrew Cornwell to quit politics and relegated seven MPs to the cross benches, including ex-police minister Mike Gallacher who relinquished his portfolio.

Mr Baird refused to say whether he's received assurances from his remaining MPs about whether they had also received banned donations.
