Hunt for NSW arsonist ramps up

Police have stepped up the search for an arsonist who targeted a Sydney fruit shop and have released CCTV footage of the store going up in flames.

The Casula shop was damaged by fire in the early hours of April 30 2014, and was gutted less than two months later in a second blaze, on June 14.

NSW Police on Tuesday released CCTV footage of the attacks showing a van ramming through the shop door followed by what appears to be an explosion, a man fleeing, and large clouds of smoke.

In a separate attack a man is seen appearing to pour the contents of a jerry can through a hole in the shop door before fire breaks out.

Police believe the fires are linked and wish to speak with a man shown in the footage wearing a white hooded jumper.

They're urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
