Home invader to face court on sex charge

A man who allegedly broke into a home in Sydney's east and sexually assaulted a woman in her bedroom will face court.

Police said the attacker broke into the home on Victoria Street, Potts Point early on Monday, snuck into a bedroom where a man and woman were sleeping and sexually assaulted the woman.

The victim woke up and alerted her partner, who chased the man from the house.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at his Dulwich Hill home, on Tuesday afternoon.

He was charged with enter dwelling house with intent to commit serious indictable offence and aggravated sexual assault.

The man was refused bail and will front Burwood Local Court on Wednesday.
