Heated throw blankets recalled in NSW

Australians trying to beat the chill this winter with a heated throw have been urged to stop using the blankets because of fears they may overheat.

Big W has issued a recall of the pink, indigo and herringbone Contempo Heated Throw Cameo after it was found the electric blankets may overheat "carrying a risk of fire or electric shock".

Customers are urged to stop using the products immediately and return them to any Big W store for a full refund.

The electric throws were sold in Big W stores nationally from February 27 to June 14 this year.
