Hear Pell respectfully: Sydney Archbishop
AAP
Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher says the public should withhold its judgment of Cardinal George Pell until it has heard all the evidence at the child abuse royal commission.
"I hope that the Cardinal will be heard respectfully, as I hope and pray all witnesses will be," he said in a statement on Sunday.
Archbishop Fisher praised the bravery of child sexual abuse survivors and said they want the truth to be heard and justice to prevail.

Cardinal Pell is due to give evidence to the commission via video link from Rome from February 29.
The commission ruled he could give evidence from Rome because ill health prevents him from flying.
