Haddad's estate at centre of legal battle

The estate of slain Brazilian woman Cecilia Haddad is at the centre of a legal battle, with her father and estranged husband launching court action in Sydney.

The 38-year-old executive's body was found fully clothed in Sydney's Lane Cove River in late April, believed to have been murdered.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Ms Haddad's former partner Mario Marcelo Santoro, who flew back to Brazil the weekend her body was discovered by kayakers.

Last month, Ms Haddad's father Jose Ibrahim Haddad filed a civil claim in the NSW Supreme Court to be the administrator of her estate.

Her ex-husband Felipe Torres also made an application in late June, after Mr Haddad's lawyer was granted "special letters of administration" on his behalf.

The court made interlocutory orders to allow an "orderly administration" of Ms Haddad estate, "identifying and preserving any property to which she may have been entitled and any testamentary instrument she may have made".

Justice Geoff Lindsay on Monday ordered that both parties keep each other informed about matters concerning administration of the estate.

The matter is due to return to court on July 16.
