Gunman on run after Sydney shooting

A drug dispute may have sparked the latest shooting in Sydney's west, as police search for a gunman who fled in a car.

Emergency services were called to Yeend Street in Merrylands at 7:30pm on Sunday where a 34-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the thighs.

A bullet pierced both the man's legs.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital but his condition is not life threatening.

Ballistics experts and forensic teams have examined the site.

Police officers from Operation Talon, which investigates gun crime in Sydney, have been informed about the latest shooting.

Detectives have reportedly seized footage from about five security cameras at the home, Macquarie Radio reports.
