A Sydney man who startled motorists on a busy Sydney street by crashing into seven cars has pleaded guilty to 13 charges.

Zac Robson was in Surry Hills early on Thursday when he drove out of a side street and collided with a ute and sedan.

Police say he continued on, hitting five more cars before coming to a stop and making a run for it.

The 23-year-old was arrested hours later at a home in Redfern and charged with offences including assaulting police, negligent driving and stealing.

He pleaded guilty to all counts when he appeared at Central Local Court on Friday.

He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.

The matter is due in court again in February.
