The manhunt continues for escapee Ali Chahine three days after he assaulted two corrective service officers and fled a Sydney court.

The 33-year-old was answering bail breach allegations at Downing Centre District Court on Wednesday afternoon when he leapt from the dock, assaulted the officers and jumped on a bus barefoot.

He is believed to have got off the bus at Central Station and hasn't been seen since.

Sydney City duty officer Inspector Stewart Leggat says police are homing in on the Greenacre and Bankstown areas, which may be linked to the fugitive.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage of Chahine, but are urging members of the public to come forward and help track him down.

Chahine is considered dangerous and people are asked not to approach him, but call triple zero instead.

Meanwhile, convicted shoplifter Beau Wiles, 25, who escaped Goulburn Correctional Centre on the same day as Chahine's flight, has faced an Illawarra court after being captured on Thursday.
