Two women use stolen credit cards for NSW shopping spree

A NSW woman is facing fraud charges after allegedly acting with an accomplice to steal credit cards in the Southern Highlands and going on a spending spree.

Police say that at about 3pm on Friday, two women went into a store in Berrima where one of them distracted a staff member while the other stole two credit cards from her purse.

It's alleged that between 4pm and 8pm that day the stolen cards were used during 18 fraudulent transactions between Picton, Mount Annan and Parramatta.

Two women were arrested at Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands on Tuesday afternoon.

A 48-year-old woman was charged with a number of offences including three counts of obtain financial advantage by deception.

She was refused bail to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday.

Police say inquiries are continuing.
