A fourth man has been charged over an alleged Sydney ice syndicate after fleeing to Melbourne on a $4500 taxi fare.

Police say the 28-year-old fled Sydney on July 23 after three others were arrested over an alleged drug racket that led to officers seizing nearly 90kg of methylamphetamine worth about $45 million.

The Chinese national was arrested in Melbourne on Friday after police tracked down the pricey taxi ride. He was extradited to NSW and charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.

The three other men remain before the courts.
