Four men face terrorist claims trial

Four men accused of planning a terrorist attack have been ordered to stand trial in a Sydney court.

Farhad Said, 24, Ibrahim Ghazzawy, 20, Jibryl Alamouie, 22, and Mohamed Alamouie, 20, appeared via video link in Central Local Court on Wednesday, when they waived their right to a committal hearing.

The case involves the alleged preparation of handwritten documents seized by police during raids across Sydney in December 2014.

The men are charged with conspiracy to do actions in preparation for a terrorist act or acts.

Magistrate John Andrews committed them for trial in the District Court, where they will be arraigned on August 5.

No one applied for bail and it was formally refused.
