Former NSW school principal to face court
AAP
Police have charged a former NSW school principal with making a false statement and perverting the course of justice following an investigation into historical child sex offences.
More than 30 offences were reported to the man when he was principal of a Newcastle school in the 1960s and 1970s, police will allege.
The 81-year-old was charged in Sydney on Tuesday and has been granted conditional bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court in March.
