Former bikie boss admits role in gun plot

They thought they had found a buyer for their illegal guns, but former Sydney bikie boss Hassan "Sam" Ibrahim and his three associates didn't realise they were talking to an undercover police officer.

The police sting led to their arrest and on Thursday, Ibrahim admitted his part in the plot.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court to conspiring to unlawfully supply firearms, following similar admissions from his sister Jazz Dior, her partner Elvis Mileski and former Rose Tattoo drummer Paul DeMarco.

The four were arrested in April 2014 after raids in Sydney and the Illawarra uncovered 18 weapons, including an M1 military-grade assault rifle, a standard rifle, three pistols, two shotguns and 11 handguns.

An agreed statement of facts tendered in court revealed that in the months prior, Ibrahim planned for Mileski and Dior to obtain five Glocks so they could give them to DeMarco, who would in turn pass them on to a "buyer", the undercover police officer.

In intercepted phone calls, Ibrahim told Mileski to make sure the guns were new and not "s*** ones".

The weapons were discussed in code, with DeMarco using words such as "motors" and "a variety of cars" in recorded conversations with the undercover officer.

He admitted to being part of the plot on Wednesday following guilty pleas from Dior and Milseki on Monday.

Two additional charges against Ibrahim, that he supplied Dior with homemade submachine guns with silencers, were dropped on Thursday.

Ibrahim was remanded in custody and is expected to be sentenced alongside his associates in the new year.
