Raids in Sydney have allegedly netted police seven kilograms of the drug ice, a loaded gun and more than $1.25 million in cash.

Piao Jian, Jiaming Lin, Mungyi Yau, Yu-Che Huang, and Suet Yee Chung, have been charged with a string of prohibited drugs and firearms offences between them, court documents show.

The five, ranging in age from 19 to 36, were refused bail at Sydney's Central Local Court on Thursday to return to court via video link in June.

Police say the ice, or methamphetamine, has an estimated street value of $700,000 and was found at two properties in Zetland and Ultimo on Wednesday night, along with the pistol and cash.

The haul is the work of a special police squad called Strike Force Diest, which began investigating the supply of ice by a man in the Sydney metropolitan area in January.
