Gang figures are refusing to supply potential terrorists with guns, according to the Australian Federal Police.
Assistant commissioner Neil Gaughan has reportedly told News Corp ideological clashes and concerns about being associated with heavily-watched extremists has caused arm dealers to deny radicals access to automatic and military-style weapons.
"They're not going to co-operate with these guys with extremist views, which is good for us," Mr Gaughan said.
