Elderly Sydney pedestrian killed

An elderly pedestrian struck by a car in Sydney's northwest has died in hospital.
The 84-year-old was crossing Herbert Street at West Ryde about 7.20am on Wednesday when hit by a car driven by a 43-year-old woman.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital but later died.
