Elderly NSW man found in three-day search

An elderly man, who has dementia and poor eyesight, has been found alive on a 400-hectare property in Sydney's outskirts after a three-day search.

The 85-year-old went missing on Thursday from the religious retreat in Douglas Park after he went driving in his ute on the property.

The alarm was raised when he failed to return and a search party was assembled consisting of local police, the police dog squad, SES and RFS crews and the PolAir and NSW Ambulance helicopters.

He was found on Sunday afternoon sheltering under a rocky outcrop about a kilometre from his ute, which was found bogged down on a track on the farm.

He was treated at the scene for dehydration and exposure and taken to Liverpool Hospital.
