Elderly lady has bag stolen after a fall

An elderly lady, who fell down at a supermarket car park on the south coast, has had her handbag stolen as a group of people came to her aid.

The 77-year-old fell down after trying to stop her trolley from rolling away at the Nowra car park around 1pm on Friday and noticed her handbag went missing while a group people were helping her.

Police examined CCTV footage and are on the hunt for a man with tattoos on his arms and who was wearing an orange coloured football jersey with the words "Culture Health" on the front and "I've made water my drink" on the back.
