DNA links man to teen rape 11 years ago

A man has been charged over the rape of a 14-year-old girl at a home in Sydney's west 11 years ago after DNA allegedly linked him to the assault.

The girl told police she was with friends at an unknown man's home in Liverpool when she was locked in a room and raped in 2005.

After the assault the teen underwent a SAIK (sexual assault investigation kit) process at hospital, which recently returned a DNA match.

A 36-year-old man was arrested last week and will face Campbelltown Local Court on Monday on several charges including aggravated sexual intercourse with child between 14 and 16, police said.
