Desperate plea in search for NSW student

The family of a man missing for more than a month after walking into bushland near Sydney after a dance party have made a desperate appeal for help.

Tiemuzhen Chalaer, 24, was last seen walking into dense bushland in Lower Portland, in the Hawkesbury region on the morning of Sunday, 7 August.

Mr Chalaer's parents flew from China after they learned their son was missing and have been spending every day searching for him.

Despite NSW Police suspending their search, Mr Chalaer's parents believe their son may still be alive and have called for help from the public.

"From the first day, as parents, our feelings told us our son was not dead," Mr Chalaer's father Hakki Caglar told Fairfax Media.

Police teams including helicopters and dog squads scoured the bushland where Mr Chalaer went missing every day for a week after his disappearance but suspended the search after they were unable to find him or new clues.

Mr Chalaer has type 1 diabetes and went missing without his insulin.
