Top NSW prosecutor Margaret Cunneen has launched a second bid to stop a corruption inquiry into her conduct.

Ms Cunneen's barrister, Arthur Moses SC, launched an appeal on Monday afternoon, shortly after the Supreme Court rejected a bid to shut down the probe into allegations she perverted the course of justice following a car crash involving her son's girlfriend, Sophia Tilley.

The appeal will be determined on November 18, and ICAC barrister Jeremy Kirk SC said the commission would hold off the inquiry until then.

The ICAC is investigating allegations Ms Cunneen coached Ms Tilley to complain of chest pains following the May accident so police could not obtain her blood alcohol level.
