Cricket bat assaults in Sydney's west

A man and a woman have been hit about the head with a cricket bat during a home invasion in Sydney's west.
Police say three men aged in their mid-20s forced their way into the Granville home late on Thursday night and carried out what is believed to be a targeted attack on the pair.
A 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man who were struck about the head by a cricket bat were taken to Westmead Hospital in stable conditions.

The men stole a backpack containing a wallet and cash and fled the scene.
