Crews work to contain Sydney factory blaze
AAP
Firefighters hope they are close to extinguishing a blaze that has been burning for 48 hours in a meat processing factory in Sydney's south.
Crews fighting the Banksmeadow factory fire have been hindered by large concrete panels blocking access to the refrigerated section where it started on Saturday morning, and concerns the building could collapse, Fire & Rescue NSW Superintendent Greg Rankin told AAP.
Firefighters will use a cherry-picker to salvage what they can from the factory on Monday, while the FRNSW hazardous materials team monitors water run-off and the unrefrigerated meat.
