Cops provide fresh info on Karlie murder
Police have revealed fresh information in their murder investigations of an Alice Springs mum and her two-year-old daughter.
A 41-year-old NSW man has been charged with the murder of young mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and is set to face court in Maitland on Thursday morning.
"We will allege that Karlie was murdered at some time between 14 and 15 December 2008," Detective Superintendent Mick Willing told reporters in Sydney.
"She sustained certain injuries to her body but I cannot go any further into those injuries as the investigations are ongoing.
"We believe that Khandalyce was murdered at some point after Karlie but we are trying to establish the exact time."
Inquiries into the brutal murder of Khandalyce Pearce are continuing.
"Now we know that others have knowledge of what occurred to Karlie and Khandalyce and we need those people to come forward. The time to do that is now," Det Supt Willing said.
