Climbers rescued after Qld mountain falls

A hiker has been airlifted to safety after falling eight metres down a southeast Queensland mountain.

The 42-year-old man suffered head and back injuries after the mishap on Mount Tibrogargan around 7.30am on Saturday.

He has been flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.

It was the second rescue in less than 24 hours at the Glass House Mountains after another climber fell on Friday afternoon at nearby Mount Beerwah.

Emergency crews stayed with the man overnight before guiding him down the mountain on Saturday morning.
