Car fire causes traffic delays on main Sydney road

Eastbound lanes on the M5 East at Kingsgrove have reopened following an earlier car fire on Kingsgrove Rd.

Traffic was backed up on the motorway  as emergency crews responded to the scene, where a sedan was consumed in flames.

Emergency crews were called just after 12pm and the area was cleared an hour later.

Traffic is returning to normal.
