Driver crashes into Sydney day care after suspected medical episode
Parents are breathing a sigh of relief this evening after their children narrowly escaped injury when a driver ploughed into the yard of a childcare centre in Sydney’s north-west earlier today.
The Ford Falcon crashed through Macquarie Long Day Care and Early Learning Centre’s fence, hitting a shade structure around 1.30pm.
All 50 children present were inside the building, on Talavera Road in Macquarie Park, at the time of the crash.
No children were injured in the incident, police confirmed.
It is understood the 38-year-old male driver suffered a medical episode, causing him to side-swipe a four-wheel-drive before smashing through the play area of the day care.
The man was treated at the scene before he was taken to hospital for observation.
