Cafe worker Elly Chen emerges from siege

Lindt cafe worker Elly Chen has fled the siege at Martin Place in central Sydney, one of five people to escape the clutches of an armed man.

A visibly-distressed Ms Chen and another woman emerged from the cafe on Monday afternoon about 5pm, a short time after three men sprinted out of the cafe.

She was filmed running towards heavily-armed tactical officers in her work apron, grabbing the arm of an officer as she dashed for safety.

"Im so glad youre safe!" Nicole Chen posted on Elly's Facebook page.
