Boys arrested after school break-in

A 12-year-old and a teenager have been arrested after a break-in that left a $50,000 trail of destruction at a western Sydney school.

Police say offenders broke into the Shoalhaven area school in the early hours of Saturday, smashing 10 windows in four demountable buildings.

Paint was thrown on computers and other equipment, carpets were damaged, and desks and chairs were upturned.

Two boys, aged 15 and 12, handed themselves into police on Wednesday, and are to be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
