Boy dies after NSW sailing accident

A 10-year-old boy has died in a hospital, two days after he fell into a lake near Newcastle while sailing.

The boy was wearing a lifejacket when he fell into Lake Macquarie on Saturday afternoon.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

He died on Monday.
