Body found after house fire at Griffith

A body has been found in the burnt wreckage of a house in NSW's Riverina region.

Police and fire crews were called to the house fire on Macarthur Street, Griffith, shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, where they were told a resident was missing.

A body was found inside the home once the fire was extinguished.

The person is yet to be identified and the cause of the fire is not clear.
