League star Jennings pleads not guilty

NSW State of Origin star Michael Jennings has pleaded not guilty to hindering police and offensive behaviour.

Jennings, who did not appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday, was charged after allegedly approaching officers in an aggressive manner when they tried to speak to another man who was allegedly kicking a car park boom gate.

The charges stem from an incident in Sydney's west following the Blues' victory in the second State of Origin match in Melbourne last month.

The Sydney Roosters player entered the pleas through his lawyer Paul McGirr.

Outside court, Mr McGirr said he was waiting to see the full brief of evidence.

"There's some independent witnesses that have different versions and that's all I can say," he told reporters.

The Sydney Roosters are investigating the alleged incident.

Jennings' matter is due to return to court on September 14 and he is not required to appear.
