Base jumper seen crash landing in NSW

An adrenaline junkie may have leaped into trouble after a witness reported seeing a base-jumper crash-land south of Sydney.

The thrill-seeker was seen jumping off a lookout at Mt Keira near Wollongong on Thursday and appeared to landed heavily a witness told police.

No one was found at the base of the cliff but a 4WD that had been parked near the landing spot has since disappeared.

Police are searching for clues to apprehend the parachutist as base-jumping is illegal in Australia.

It comes after two Australians were recently killed in a separate wingsuit accidents in Europe.
