An argument over a faulty second-hand bar fridge has ended with one man being charged for assault.

The fridge was sold a week ago to a 32-year-old man, who tried to return it to the previous owner on Wednesday and get his money back.

But an argument broke out, and the seller, 52, was allegedly kicked in the thigh and his friend pushed over.

The seller later returned $60 to the buyer, who allegedly threw the fridge onto the front lawn of his home and left.

Police later investigated and viewed video footage of the incident in Arncliffe in Sydney's south.

A man was later charged with robbery and assault.

He's due on Kogarah Local Court on November 25.
