A man and a woman, both in their early 20s, have been robbed in two separate incidents around Sydney university campuses.

A 21-year-old female university student was walking along Barker Street at UNSW in Randwick around 10pm on Sunday when she was approached by a man and two women who demanded her backpack.

The caucasian man, aged around 20 and wearing a blue cap and white hoodie, grabbed her and pulled her to the ground before the group fled with her bag. She suffered minor injuries but did not require treatment.

About 40 minutes later, a 23-year-old man suffered bruising to his face when he was approached and assaulted by two men while walking through Victoria Park near the University of Sydney campus in Camperdown.

Police say the men, described as having dark skin and wearing green hooded jumpers, pushed him to the ground and kicked him repeatedly before fleeing with his shoulder bag and laptop.

Police do not believe the incidents are linked but are continuing investigations.
