Australian Federal Police surround Lucas Heights nuclear reactor in security scare

Australian Federal Police have swarmed over a vehicle parked outside the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor. (9NEWS) 9NEWS
Sydney’s Lucas Heights nuclear reactor was surrounded by Australian Federal Police officers this afternoon, following a security scare.
Police were called to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) research facility after two vehicles were spotted parked approximately 50m from the front security gate.

Officers swarmed around the two cars, slowing nearby traffic to a crawl.
A NSW Police Force spokesman said the occupants were spoken to by both AFP and state police before being allowed to leave..
