Great white shark spotted hunting stingray in NSW
A great white shark has been filmed pursuing a stingray just metres from shore on the NSW South Coast.
Lewis Loughlin spotted the shark near Jervis Bay at Sussex Inlet yesterday morning, and filmed it devouring the ray in crystal clear water.

At one point the shark even breached the surface, turning over to clamp down on the ray. @CarvedBanks
At times the shark was just 10 metres from shore in a little over one metre of water.
A group of surfers were nearby surfing the south point.
The shark chased down and ate the ray before continuing back out to sea.

It is commonly known that juvenile white sharks will feed on a myriad of bottom-dwelling fish such as stargazers sole and flathead along with stingrays.
Researchers theorise the sharks move to bigger prey such as mammals and other sharks once they reach full maturity.
