NSW has dispatched a team of firefighters to assist their South Australian comrades as out-of-control blazes continue to burn across the state.

One hundred RFS volunteers flew out this evening from Sydney Airport with the blessing of NSW’s Acting Premier Troy Grant.

Another 200 RFS personnel are now standing by for a possible deployment to Victoria where bushfires also continue to blaze.

The RFS has also earmarked 35 specialists, including logistics and management experts, for possible deployment to the two fire zones.

Those specialists are drawn from across the state’s RFS volunteers, National Park staff and Fire and Rescue officers.

“Our members put their hands up very quickly to help,” NSW Rural Fire Service’s Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said.
