NSW Premier Baird to welcome Prince Harry to Sydney

NSW Premier Mike Baird will help roll out the red carpet for Prince Harry in Sydney, but even a royal visit won't keep him away from question time in parliament.

The premier is among hundreds expected to line the stairs of Sydney's Opera House on Thursday to greet the prince, who is winding up a month-long deployment with the Australian Defence Force.

From there, Captain Wales will go on to Macquarie University Clinic to visit a British officer who lost both legs in Afghanistan, while Mr Baird will head back to Macquarie Street for the second round of question time of the year.

The premier is expected to be grilled again on how his government might respond to the Australian Energy Regulator's electricity bill-slashing determination last week, with Labor accusing the coalition of planning to fight the regulator to get a better price for its partial poles-and-wires sell-off.
