Nanna busted with open bottle of plonk in van

A 71-year-old woman has been charged with high-range drink driving after being caught allegedly over the limit at Nambucca in northern NSW.

At 2.30pm yesterday police stopped the womanon the Pacific Highway as she was driving from Taree, following reports of a driver allegedly having difficulty manoeuvring e Volkwswagen campervan.

After failing a roadside breath test, police allegedly discovered an open bottle of champagne in the van's door drink holder.

She was arrested and taken to Nambucca Police Station where she returned an alleged blood alcohol level of 0.233.

She will appear at Macksville Local Court on September 13.
